Kenneth C. Lund
Ken was born Oct 6,1976 and lived in various regions of Maine including the Portland area, Aroostook County and Mount Desert Island. After obtaining a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Maine at Presque Isle in 1999, Ken spent the next 10 years living in the Monterey Bay area of California.
Much of Ken's inspiration for art came from the serene landscapes of his upbringing. He also drew from artists such as Rothko, Hoffman, Cezanne, Richter, Kandinsky and of course his painting professor Anderson Giles.
In the early 2000's, Lund understudied with the event painter, Greg Kalamar. Kalamar (out of Seattle, Wa) introduced the concept of event painting, a new movement to the corporate, music and wedding event scenes. Soon after, Lund began capturing live events all across the California coast and its prestigious Napa Valley region. Now living in Maine, Ken offers painting services all across New England.

Live Event Art
An event painting typically lasts 3-4 hours. From the beginning of the event, Lund will create an impressionistic version of any event and finish the painting on site for all guests to experience. The paintings can range in size and are captured in oil. Key techniques would include attention to ambiance, perspective, color, texture and lighting.
Lund works in conjunction with clients to uncover exactly what specifics will make up the painting's composition and elements. Parameters can include colors, perspective, moments of interest and capturing certain VIP's.

Fine Art
Ken's focus is to incorporate both landscapes and personal moments from his travels in Maine and California. Presenting a realistic point of view is not the
intention. His goal is to work from personal images in an effort to
deconstruct the scenes and portray their core elements of beauty. By using
abstraction with a focus on atmosphere, color planes, knife texture, and under
painting, he strives to express a unifying dialogue between obscured landscape features
and personal feelings evoked through life events.
